Over the years, the Winn Foundation has helped to advance veterinary knowledge in all areas of feline health. Since its inception, grants totaling in excess of $3 million have been awarded by the Foundation for scientific studies, encouraging veterinarians to focus attention on the needs of cats.
Winn has two rounds of funding each year:
- A grant review session is held in conjunction with the February board meeting each year for a traditional round of funding.
- In the fall, the projects submitted for funding under a separate program with our partner, the Miller Trust, are reviewed and funded.
Projects are selected for funding based on strict criteria which include scientific merit, value to cats, clinical relevance, budgetary soundness, and humane treatment. The guidelines for submission of a grant proposal to Winn are found in our section for Researchers.
